He graduated in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Bologna on 19/10/2000 with honors and specialized in Orthopedics and Traumatology at the Rizzoli Orthopaedic Institute - University of Bologna on 05/11/2005 with honors.

He works at the Orthopaedic and Traumatology II Clinic of the Rizzoli Orthopaedic Institute in Bologna, where he carries out clinical-surgical activities with particular interest in sports patient pathologies (articular capsular-legamentous lesions of the knee and ankle, tendon and cartilaginous lesions) and in degenerative/post-traumatic pathologies (hip, knee and ankle arthrosis) treated with the most advanced osteo-articular reconstructive techniques.

He is in charge of the Nanotechnology research line at the Laboratory of Nanobiotechnology (NABI) of the Rizzoli Orthopaedic Institute in Bologna whose main research lines concern nanotechnology applied to cartilage regeneration and the development of nanostructured materials for the realization of joint prosthesis. The activity of the laboratory is dedicated to the design and development of new nanostructured materials to improve the performance and increase the survival time of joint prostheses and the application of stem cells for cartilage regeneration and the symptomatic treatment of advanced arthrosis.
